Heres are sketches from an older sketch book... The man with the shovel is Melvin the Grave digger. Below is a bronze sculpture I made based off this drawing. I chose a grave digger because I used to be a grave digger.. I worked at a cemetary for about seven months digging holes, setting up services and maintaining the grounds. I had just graduated from the Art Institute and had moved back in with my parents. I was part time interning at a small animation studio in Colorado Springs and part timing at the cemetary. Pretty morbid I know, but it was interesting. I actually didn't see too many rotting corpses because they pretty much are in coffins the whole time. But one time they had to take a coffin from an outdoor grave and move it to another part of the cemetary and the bottom of the coffin rotted out so all the remains fell out on the ground. So they picked everything up with the shovel and put it in a bag. They took the remains away and brought the coffin into the garage where we ate lunch.. Later they realized that the head was missing, and found it under some fabric still in the coffin. I've switched professions since then but sometimes I wonder what I'm missing out on...

I love bronzes because they are heavy and feel really high quality and will last for thousands and thousands of years... After we have all evolved back into monkeys... Or devolved... Is it possible to devolve?
